Planet Trading Cards

Third graders were working on planet research just before Winter Break and created trading cards about their planets. They really seem to like having a different type of end project rather than an essay or something like that, so I wanted them to be able to draw this time. I chose to create handmade trading cards for that reason even though sites like Big Huge Labs is another way to make some great online cards. We used the Big 6 process of course and used non-fiction books to research the planets since we used online sources for the plant project earlier this year. The students were asked to draw the planet and title it on one side, then add the facts from their graphic organizer along with the citation on the back.  Here is an example of one student’s work with her graphic organizer and card.
